BED is an eating disorder (disordered eating) characterized by recurrent episodes of eating large quantities of food (often quickly & to the point of discomfort). During the binge the individual experiences a feeling of a loss of control and experience shame, distress or guilt afterwards. And while those with bulimia to to "undo" the binge by purging, people with BED make no such attempt. Nor do they try to burn off the extra calories through exercise or compensate by fasting.

If you aren't sure you suffer from BED, take the BED screen on the National Eating Disorders (NEDA) free screening then set up a complimentary session with me. I'll point you in the right direction for support, care and understanding.

BED and me

  • Are you sick and tired of obsessing about the next thing that goes into your mouth?

  • Do you struggle with diets, restricting, self-loathing and eating beyond control?

  • Do your thoughts about food and negative body thoughts keep you from enjoying your life?

  • Do you hate photos of yourself or looking in the mirror?

  • Does your life and ability to control your food intake feel out of control?

National Eating Disorders Association

NEDA supports individuals and families affected by eating disorders, and serves as a catalyst for prevention, cures and access to quality care.

  • Through weekly 60 minute coaching sessions, we will work together to set goals, examine limiting believes, uncover self-compassion, loving the body you have RIGHT now, and normalizing food.

  • Together, we will discover triggers, and the function of BED as your go-to calming/control mechanism.

  • We will work to develop new tools and more life-affirming coping strategies.

  • You'll discover amazing amounts of "found" time as food no longer consumes your time and energy.

  • Gain freedom from constant food obsession, body-shaming, and self-loathing.

  • I offer a free, no obligation, 60 to 90 minute phone or face-to-face consultation to see if we are a good fit. After our session I'll spend about 5 minutes sharing my fees and terms of working together.

I've been in Binge Eating Disorder BED recovery for over three years. It's been an amazing journey as I discovered that my eating compulsions were not just because I couldn't control myself. I have immersed myself in BED research, recovery options, and support systems. I feel very passionate about shining the light on this disorder, especially in Oklahoma.

One thing I have learned is how I eat and care for myself shows up in all areas of my life. As I've learned about the WHY I binged and how to interrupt old patterns of thinking and regain my life.
